StackSaga Artifact License 1.0 (SSAL-1.0)

Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using the Software, You agree to be bound by the terms of this License. If You do not agree to these terms, You may not use the Software.

Definitions

"Software" means the compiled StackSaga library artifacts (including any associated public API interface source code) made available by Licensor via Maven Central under the org.stacksaga group ID, together with any documentation distributed with it.

"Licensor" means Zoftstack, the copyright holder of the Software.

"You" or "Your" means the individual or legal entity exercising rights under this License.

Grant of Rights

Subject to the terms and limitations of this License, Licensor grants You a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, non-sublicensable, non-transferable license to:

(a) download and use the Software as an unmodified binary dependency in Your own applications, for internal, development, testing, and commercial production purposes; and

(b) distribute the Software solely as an unmodified, embedded dependency within Your own compiled application (for example, as part of a packaged build, container image, or deployment artifact), provided such distribution does not make the Software independently usable, extractable, or redistributable outside of Your application.

Limitations

No Modification. You may not modify, adapt, translate, patch, fork, or create derivative works of the Software. You may not decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive or reconstruct the source code of the Software, except to the extent that such restriction is prohibited by applicable law. You may not create or distribute any modified, patched, forked, or derivative version of the Software.
No Standalone Redistribution. You may not host, mirror, cache, or republish the Software — in original or any other form — on any package repository, artifact registry, or distribution channel other than the official Maven Central coordinates published by Licensor.
No Managed or Hosted Service. You may not offer the Software, or any product or service whose primary value derives from the Software, to third parties as a hosted or managed service (including but not limited to SaaS offerings) that gives such third parties substantial access to the Software's functionality, without first obtaining a separate commercial license from Licensor. No Sublicensing. The rights granted under this License may not be sublicensed. You may not relicense the Software, in original or modified form, to any third party under different terms.
Attribution. Any product, service, application, or public documentation that uses the Software must display a visible "Powered by StackSaga" credit with a link to https://www.stacksaga.org, in at least one of the following locations: the product's about/credits page, its README, or its public documentation.
Trademarks. This License does not grant You any right to use the "StackSaga," "Zoftstack," or associated names, logos, or trademarks, except as strictly required to comply with the attribution requirement above.
Notices. You may not alter, remove, or obscure any copyright, license, or other notices of the Licensor included in or accompanying the Software.

Commercial Support (Optional)

The Software is provided under this License without any obligation on Licensor's part to provide support, maintenance, updates, or security patches. Licensor separately offers paid commercial support subscriptions, which may include prioritized bug fixes, security patches, maintenance updates, and direct technical assistance, under a separate agreement. To inquire about a commercial support subscription, contact [email protected]. Use of the Software under this License, on its own, does not entitle You to any support, maintenance, or security services from Licensor.

Patents

Licensor grants You a license, under any patent claims Licensor can license or later becomes able to license, to make, use, and run the Software, subject to the limitations of this License. This patent license does not extend to any claim arising from modifications or additions made in violation of this License. If You, or the company You represent, make any written claim that the Software infringes or contributes to infringement of any patent, Your rights under this License — including this patent license — terminate immediately.

Termination

This License, and all rights granted under it, terminate automatically and without notice if You breach any of its terms. Upon termination, You must immediately cease all use, execution, and distribution of the Software and destroy all copies in Your possession or control.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, LICENSOR MAKES NO WARRANTY AND ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY REGARDING THE SECURITY OF THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING ITS FREEDOM FROM VULNERABILITIES, DEFECTS, OR THIRD-PARTY EXPLOITATION, AND HAS NO OBLIGATION TO IDENTIFY, DISCLOSE, OR REMEDIATE ANY SECURITY ISSUE UNDER THIS LICENSE. SECURITY-RELATED SUPPORT, IF ANY, IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO LICENSEES UNDER A SEPARATE PAID COMMERCIAL SUPPORT SUBSCRIPTION OR COMMERCIAL LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH LICENSOR.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OF OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

Governing Law

This License shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
